The first LCAP was successfully held at University of Macau in 2012, congregating both established researchers in the field as well as a handful of promising postgraduates. During the elapsed four years, these two multilingual and diverse regions, have continued to witness significant economic and social changes, perpetuating, evolving or even changing existing language contact situations, as well as prompting new ones.
While the aim of the LCAP is to promote multidisciplinary research on the different facets of language contact and multilingualism in Asia and the Pacific, at large, LCAP 2016 wishes to specifically address findings and ongoing research on: language contact in urban settings language policies and planning in multilingual municipalities, administrative or economic regions and countries maintenance and revitalisation projects of endangered minority languages in such contexts social and cultural implications of language contact in general (and in mutlilingual urban environments in particular)
LCAP 2016 is pleased to announce the following keynote speakers who have already confirmed their participation:

The working language of the conference will be primarily English, but presentations in Chinese and Portuguese are equally accepted. Simultaneous translation to English will be provided for such cases.
